In two months, Movistar Play in Peru reached more than 300,000 registered users and the company expects to close the year with 700,000, said in a statement Movistar Mobile Marketing director, Luis Acuña.
The platform is live streaming the qualifiers for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. During Ecuador vs Peru match (played on the previous date, last September 5) more than 120,000 users were connected to the application. “We believe that this figure will grow significantly during the game between Argentina and Peru,” said the executive.
The video platform allows access to live channels and a catalog of thousands of movies and series. To access Movistar Play, the user must register with his ID on the website. The service is available to all users with fixed trio and duo plans; or mobile phone with postpaid, prepaid and preplan plans.
The qualifying matches are also available live on Movistar TV. The matches Argentina vs Peru, Chile vs Ecuador and Colombia vs Paraguay will be available on channels 7/703 (HD), 14/714 (HD) and 15/715 (HD), respectively.
