Movistar expands its fiber network in Colombia

Movistar Colombia announced that its FTTH network is already available in Cúcuta and its metropolitan area. The company said it invested more than Co$ 9,000 million (USD 3.1 million) to expand the technology to this city and to offer connectivity to more than 36,000 homes, industries and public services.
The telecommunications company is offering bundles with 100 Mbps and digital services such as Movistar Play, Movistar TV with online channels, 83 SD channels and 68 HD channels, as well as unlimited local and national voice all for Co$ 248,900 (USD 86.5). All the triple play packages with fiber include two free months trial.
For those who want to subscribe to Internet and basic phone service, a different plan includes 100 Mbps via FTTH, as well as unlimited local and national voice for Co$ 210,900 (USD 73.3) per month, after a free month trial.
Movistar initiated the deployment of FTTH in Colombia in June of last year with the objective of “meeting the growing demand for connectivity in the country”.
