Multinational telecommunications company Millicom announced through a press release that it had reached a trade agreement with US OTT Netflix to incorporate its Video On Demand (VOD) services for its TV and mobile telephony customers.
On one hand, Millicom will incorporate the mobile app for Android phones sold by the Tigo brand in Latin America. In addition, those who purchase plans from its Pay-TV and broadband services Tigo Star or from Tigo Smart will receive a prepaid subscription to the OTT.
“Customers choose Tigo to access anywhere On Demand services without interruption. Clients can enjoy a huge variety of content through our stable high-speed network”, said Millicom CCO, Victor Unda.
“By partnering with Millicom, we are making it even more easy for TV fans and film lovers in Latin America to enjoy Netflix both at home and outside”, said on his behalf the Director of Business Development of the OTT, Paul Perryman.
