Megacable expects growth in 2018

Megacable’s marketing director, Gerardo Seifert, said to El Economista that the company grew in the video area in 2017, even though it was a difficult year for pay TV operators. In 2018, Megacable projects a growth of between 8% and 9% in this segment.
The Mexican company ended 2017 with 3 million pay TV subscribers, 2.63 million broadband clients and 1.5 million telephony subscribers. In addition, its next-generation multi-screen service, Xview, reached 170,000 subscribers.
According to the executive, the internet segment grew by 20% in 2017, the telephony service 25% and “we grew in video, something that practically no other company in Mexico did”. Seifert said that in 2018 they expect double-digit growth in Internet and telephony, while in pay TV the increase will be 8% or 9%. “This year has started very well, we had two very good first months of 2018.”
The company presented in Guadalajara, where it has its headquarters, its strategy for 2018, which will be focused on offering triple play packages with more internet speed and access to Xview.
