Mega to launch new TV channel

Chilean broadcaster Mega (Grupo Bethia) will launch in January 2019 the new pay TV channel Mega Plus, which will target an audience of men and women of 35-50 years old. The investment for this initiative exceeds USD 1.5 million in technology.
“It will have informative shows that will approach news in a different way, with much more analysis and depth. It will also have national productions that we are developing with production companies, as well as entertainment content, and premium fiction series,” explained Patricia Bazán, director of Content and Quality Standards.
In addition, it will have live content and shows from Discovery (owner of a stake of the FTA network) and from the production company Vice. Initially, the new TV channel will be available on VTR, the country’s largest pay TV operator, and will later expand its distribution, according to the BioBio Chile portal.
The project will use Mega’s facilities and will also have its own web page, where the content of the channel will be uploaded to have a better audience reach.
