Mediapro to handle production and distribution of main soccer competitions in South America

Spain’s Mediapro Group announced that it has been selected by the South American Soccer Confederation (Conmebol) for the creation of a HUB that will manage integration, production and distribution of the international TV broadcast of its three main competitions: the Copa Libertadores, the Copa Sudamericana and the Recopa.
The company said the facility will receive coverage from the 263 matches of these three competitions held in 10 countries (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela).
According to the Spanish group, the proposal, set by Argentina’s division of Mediapro, was considered “the best in technical and financial aspects”. Previously, the production was in charge of Argentine sports company Torneos.
The new HUB will be based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and will be equipped with “the latest in technology” to integrate, produce and distribute the coverage from the different stadiums. These will also include graphics and comments in 3 languages (Spanish, Portuguese and English) as well as complementary content generation: highlights, social networks and promotional videos.
Mediapro has experience in producing 13 national leagues (amongst which are Spain, France, Portugal, Italy, Colombia and Bolivia). The company was also part of the production of the latest editions of the World Cup, UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League.
