Leading operators to discuss the future of pay TV

NexTV Series Argentina will gather, on May 16 and 17 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Buenos Aires, more than 15 pay TV operators of South America to analyze the impact of the consumer trends, the arrival of new video services and how pay TV via OTT will change the market, among other topics.
Pay TV in Latin America goes through new challenges. In Argentina, the opening of the market brings with it the entry of new video operators through FTTH networks. In this context, the telecommunications companies Iplan and Metrotel will participate in the event to discuss the offer of audiovisual content through the deployment of fiber to the home.
In turn, executives of pay TV operators GIgared, Cablevideo Digital and Antina will meet in a panel to discuss the new pay TV competition in the country, while executives from the Chamber of Telecommunications Cooperatives (Catel in Spanish) and Interam – Amacom Media, a company that recently obtained a license for DTH, will talk about new strategies in the TV business.
OTT pay TV will be another of the topics to be discussed at NexTV Series Argentina, with a special panel featuring executives from cable TV operators TCC from Uruguay and Digital TV Cable from Bolivia, together with Wiltel Comunicaciones from Argentina, the telecom company that offers triple play through its FTTH network. For its part, the Uruguayan operator Nuevo Siglo will be part of a panel that will analyze the new recommendation systems.
Montecable, also from Uruguay, will discuss the third party OTT integration into pay TV operators together with representatives of the cooperatives of Colsecor and Telpin of Argentina.
Telecom Argentina group, which includes Cablevisión, the country’s main pay TV operator, will be present at the event with COO Gonzalo Hita as keynote speaker. The other ILEC telco in Argentina, Movistar, which already has its license to enter the pay TV market, will also participate of the conference.
Three other telecommunications companies will be part of the conference. Executives from Antel (Uruguay) and Copaco (Paraguay) will analyze the growth opportunities for pay TV in South America while Entel will make a presentation on IOT Smart Home and pay TV.
