Latina to broadcast Peru’s qualifiers for 2022 Qatar World Cup

The Peruvian Soccer Federation (FPF in Spanish) announced the winners of the TV rights for the 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifiers. Latina will broadcast on free-to-air TV the home games of the national team, while GolTV will air the international matches. Movistar acquired the rights for pay and mobile TV, as the company previously announced.
This is the first time that the FPF conducts a public tender for the commercialization of rights. “This is a historic moment for the institution as we are quadrupling the income of the most important contract of the FPF, a process that has been carried out with complete professionalism and transparency,” said the president of the federation, Edwin Oviedo.
The media rights granted correspond to the period September 2018-December 2021. The entity also reported that RPP Noticias will cover the qualifiers on radio.
In a statement, José del Valle, CEO of Telefónica Media Networks said: “We are committed to the Peruvian soccer team and we will continue supporting their efforts to classify for the next World Cup, for which we will deploy the largest coverage on all screens.”
