IFT to decide on Disney-Fox merger next Monday

Telecommunications Federal Institute postponed for Monday, March 11th the discussion on Disney-Fox merger, valued at USD 713 billion, after both companies have sent a series of measures that they had committed to follow to eliminate competition risks and, that way, get the Mexican regulator’s approval on the operation.

IFT had initially agreed to deal  with this issue last February 27th, but it had scheduled the debate because the Competition Unit, headed by Georgina Kary Santiago, listed the discussion for next Monday.

Although measures presented by Disney and Fox were not spreaded, they are expected to sell Fox’s sports channels in Mexico, as it happened in Brazil a few days ago.
