ICE files complaint for Cable Visión’s purchase in 2013

Costa Rican Institute of Electricity (ICE) made a complaint to Public Ministry for Cable Visión of Costa Rica purchase, in 2013, when the company was in decline.The complaint is focused on applying responsibilities to officials or thirds who have taken part of the purchases process..

‘Complaint is based on documents and facts analyzed around the acquisition of the previous mentioned company by the Institute, in 2013 (…) Part of an exhaustive analysis carried out by the ICE Group, about operations and subsidiary state that, in recent months, included the study of facts that made possible, in 2013, the company’s purchase”, announced ICE in an official statement.

Complaint was filed after a General Controller of the Republic (CGR) report, which affirmed that  ICE bought Cablevisión at a time when the company’s financial situation was in decline, with accumulated losses equal to 49% of its equity between 2014 and 2017.
