History debuts first original production in Facebook Live

Pay TV channel History launches today its first original production in Facebook Live, called “Hoy en la Historia” (Today in History), which will address the most relevant events in Latin America and around the world.

“Hoy en la Historia” is the channel’s first live show. The company said it will reach more than 20 million fans in its community on the social network. It will be hosted by Diego Hernández and will be broadcast from Monday to Friday on the official page of History Latin America.

The new show will have special guests and the participation of stars of the channel. It will include several topics such as music, sports, painting, literature, cinema, television, economics, politics and technology, among others. In addition, it will offer different activities, such as surveys, games and segments with the guests. Users will be able to ask questions and interact, both with the host and with the guests.

“The idea of making this format comes from our successful daily social network review, #HoyEnLaHistoria, with the postings of those events that marked the history. Today we raise the bar, and we add a live daily program so that our followers of Latin America can know in an original way a world event and interact with us. We are the first pay TV entertainment channel to have a live segment Monday through Friday on Facebook Live for its followers,” said Cesar Coletti, SVP Marketing, A+E Networks Latin America.
