Hispasat 30W-6 launch delayed

Hispasat announced in a press released that the launch of the 30W-6 satellite, planned for February 25, 2018, was postponed due to technical reasons.
“SpaceX, the launch services provider, has informed Hispasat that it is necessary to conduct additional testing on the fairing’s pressurization system, requiring the launch to be delayed”, said the company.
The satellite will be placed at its final orbital position, 30º West, where it will replace and broaden the capacity of Hispasat 30W-4. Hispasat said the launch will take place as soon as the incident is resolved and the launch window with the greatest chances of success is available.
According to the company, Hispasat 30W-6 will contribute to the reduction of the digital divide in Latin America, the Iberian Peninsula and North Africa, and promote the distribution of audiovisual content in Latin America.
Hispasat’s new satellite will offer improved coverage and services that will increase the operator’s offer in C and Ku bands, as well as new connectivity solutions in Ka band that will enable broadband Internet access in rural areas.
