Brazilian programmer Globosat announced the launch of a new unit – called VIU – that will produce digital content for its own pay TV channels but also for independent projects for social networks like Facebook, Twitter or Snapchat, among others.
Paulo Daudt Marinho, VIU Director, explained that the new unit will act on three fronts: in partnership with Globosat channels, producing original content and developing material for third parties, according to O Globo newspaper.
The platform will also work on the integration of brands with content, whether through branded content, product placement, advertising, licensing or creating their own channels.
The new unit will produce content of humor, music, sport, fiction, games and for women, among others. It will involve personalities from digital platforms, but the company also intends to launch new names.
One of the first works of VIU was the transmission of the Multishow Prize, last October, with actions in the main social networks, which gave the channel a 108% increase in audience among the general public and of 229% among young people , when compared to 2015.
