Globo’s “Hidden Truths” wins the International Emmy for Best Telenovela

The Brazilian production “Hidden Truths” from Globo received the ‘Telenovela’ award at the 44th International Emmy Awards, held in New York.

Written by Walcyr Carrasco, the telenovela aired on Globo, in Brazil, between June and September of 2015. The story centers on a love triangle involving mother and daughter and exposes the dark side of the fashion world.

As the only Brazilian television network to have won the International Emmy, Globo has fifteen statuettes. Globo was awarded its first International Emmy in 1981, for the musical ‘Noah’s Ark’.

The International Emmy Awards recognizes the television produced outside of the United States, as well as US Primetime programs produced in languages other than English.
