Globo acquired the rights to broadcast UEFA Euro 2020 in Brazil

The Brazilian media group Globo acquired the rights to broadcast in Brazil the UEFA Euro 2020 exclusively. This is the most important European football championship for national teams.  The licenses obtained by the group include the live broadcast of the matches on FTA TV, pay TV and Internet. Therefore, the tournament will be available through the sports network SporTV and the online portal globoesporte.com.

Since its creation in 1991, the pay TV network SporTV –called TopSports on its beginnings- has broadcasted live every edition of the UEFA European Championship. Euro 2020 is the 8th edition of the tournament that is played since 1992. Globo broadcasts the competition since 2012. In 2016 the media group chose to sublicence it and shared the rights with another FTA TV channel: Band.

Euro 2020 will be played in June and July 2020 with 24 teams competing. This will be the first edition that won’t be played in a fixed location. Instead, the matches are going to take place in 13 stadiums located in different countries.
