France 24 launches Spanish-language channel in Mexico

France 24 launched its new Spanish-language channel in Mexico, which is now available in triple-play operator TotalPlay and Canal Catorce of the State Public Broadcasting System. France 24 en Español launched in Latin America on September 26 and it already reaches about 13 million homes in the region.
Marie-Christine Saragosse, President and CEO of France Médias Monde group said that they are in “close contact” with the main players of the Mexican market, including Grupo Salinas, Televisa, Megacable and Dish, “to allow the distribution of the channel and create new partnerships”, El Financiero reported.
The launch event in Mexico was held on November 30 with the participation of Saragosse, the general director of France 24, Marc Saikali, and the director of the channel in Spanish, Álvaro Sierra.
France 24 in Spanish has its headquarters in Bogota, Colombia, and initially offers six hours of programming: between 6.00 am and 8.00 am (Bogotá time) and between 6.00 pm and 10.00 pm.
