Fox Sports interested in soccer TV rights in Ecuador

Fox Sports informed the Ecuadorian Soccer Federation (FEF) that it intends to participate in a new tender for TV rights. This week, the FEF said that the Justice revoked the precautionary measures against the agreement with GolTV. However, the federation must open a new tender.
In a statement, the FEF reported that it obtained “the total lifting of the precautionary measures” requested by politician Abdalá Bucaram Pulley, demonstrating that “never proved or evidenced the threat of violation of constitutional rights.”
However, El Comercio indicated that another separate legal action, also requested by Bucaram, is pending, in which it was decided that the FEF must launch another tender for the TV rights within a period of 72 hours.
Given this, Fox Sports sent a letter, signed by Francisco Pazmiño Senior Vice President of Programming and Acquisitions, in which it expressed the interest in participating in the “potential reopening of a tender process for the audiovisual rights of the Ecuadorian Soccer Championship “. In the letter, the company recalled that “it is the leading channel in Latin America, reaching more than 60 million homes in the region.”
