US programmer Fox announced that its Fox Sports channel in Brazil has launched a subscription mobile app independent from telecom operators to watch the soccer matches of the Libertadores Cup.
Those who are not subscribers of any Pay-TV operator that include the Fox channel pack will be able to watch the next second round, quarterfinals, semifinals and finals of the international tournament for a single down-payment corresponding to USD 40.
The value is high compared to other similar services such as those offered by channel El Plus to see the European Champions League tournament, which costs USD 4.2 per month. Until now, the Libertadores Cup was only available for Pay-TV subscribers, besides some select games broadcasted by Free-to-Air network Globo.
Pay-TV customers who have Fox channels can access contents through linear channels, its TV Everywhere (TVE) and Video On Demand (VOD) platform Fox Sports Play and other content on its classic mobile app.
