US broadcaster Fox Networks Group Latin America announced through a press release that it will launch for the first time access to its Subscription Video On Demand (SVOD) platform Fox+ for broadband clients and independently from Pay-TV operations through Dish OTT (MVS-Echostar) in Mexico.
As a first step in a strategy that seeks to be replicated throughout Latin America, customers of any internet service in Mexico will be able to access the VOD content of premium channels package Fox+ from any connected device for a monthly fee starting at USD 7.5.
As it did in late 2015 with the launch of the independent platform HBO Go of the US broadcaster, Dish continues with a video expansion strategy in line with Dish OTT, first platform of its kind in the region.
“In line with changes in content consumer habits, Fox opens up new ways to respond to these new trends, creating greater flexibility in its business model through the launch of this new platform”, stated Fox Networks Group in Mexico SVP & GM, Federico Alaman.
“To include now Fox+ within the Dish OTT platform consolidates us within this trend in which users only need to have an internet connection to enjoy the best content in the world anywhere, anytime”, said on his behalf Dish Mexico Marketing Director, Benjamin Ramirez.
