ESPN to offer 4K content

ESPN unveiled the 2018 programming in its annual upfront, held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, for more than 700 guests. During the event, the network announced it is ready to broadcast in 4K with 5.1 surround sound.

“Our mission, which is to entertain through sports, gest easier every day thanks to technology. Today, users can access any event from any device and anywhere. For that experience to be even richer, in 2018 we will offer content with 4k quality and with 5.1 dolby surround sound,” said Guillermo Tabanera, Senior VP and General Manager of ESPN Latin America, during the event.

The TV network will offer international competitions and events in Argentina – including the finals of the URBA, the Rugby Championship with the Pumas and the Argentine Open Polo Championship – generated by local technicians through a mobile unit in 4K.

In addition, the 2018 programming will be focused on the soccer world cup in Russia and the big international events that ESPN usually broadcasts live.
