The Discovery channel announced an agreement with Movistar to make Food Network, focused on the food market’s content, available in Colombia through Movistar TV’s channel 851 (HD) The channel will be available in Movistar’s Zaphire Plus plan.
‘Increasing our entertainment content catalog is one of Movistar Colombia’s aims. Our customers demand quality and different content, such as the one offered by Food Network. Gastronomy is an important part of culture, and what better news than having this great channel available’, said Camilo Aya, Movistar’s Marketing Director in Colombia, who also reported that Food Network is now in the country’s Zafiro Plus plan. From Discovery they have also expressed themselves on the agreement through Carlos Gomez, Affiliates Sales Marketing Director of the company, who said that they are ‘very pleased to extend Food Network’s presence on a solid base as Movistar’s customers one to provide the best content for food lovers’.
Some of the main TV programs that will be on Food Network’s programming grid are ‘Locos por el asado’, which focuses on cooking techniques, meat cuts, sauces and others; ‘Burgers Brew & Que’, based on US classics tastings such as hamburgers and barbecues, and ‘Weekly Menu with Rachael Ray’, where five dishes will be prepared in each broadcast, to provide families with a complete weekly menu.
Diego Carvajal Galeano, Discovery USH / Latam’s Regional Digital Director, will take part in the next edition of Nextv Series Colombia,organized by Dataxis. The event will take place nextJune 27th at the JW Marriott Hotel in Bogota.
