Discovery Networks LatinAmerica/U.S. Hispanic (DLA/USH), a division of Discovery Communications, announced the ratings results for Q416. During this period, the channels portfolio reached the highest audience levels in a fourth quarter in the company’s history, according to data from Ibope (people aged 25-54).
“It was a great achievement to reach these unprecedented levels of audience in the history of our company,” said Carolina Lightcap, EVP and Chief Content Officer at Discovery Networks Latin America/U.S. Hispanic.
The company said in a press release that Discovery Channel remained the #1 pan-regional channel, a category it has led for 16 consecutive years among its main audience of adults aged 25-54 in primetime. Leadership in key markets such as Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Colombia for another consecutive year contributed to the success of the network.
Discovery Kids continued as the leading pan-regional preschool channel for children ages 4-11, as well as #1 rated pay TV channel among women aged 25-49. Meanwhile, in Brazil the channel remained as #1 rated pay TV channel for the seventh consecutive year.
Moreover, DLA/USH said that during 2016 Discovery Home & Health continued to lead the women’s lifestyle category at pan-regional level and in each of the markets during primetime, among its main audience of women aged 18-49.
Investigation Discovery achieved its best ratings ever in 2016, with a 13% increase over the previous year among its main audience of women aged 25-54 in primetime.
