DAZN develops campaign against sports piracy in Brazil

According to official information from the Brazilian Subscription TV Association (ABTA), activities related to piracy in Brazil generate losses of around USD 2.3 million at an annual level. This is the main reason why the DAZN streaming platform, recently launched in Brazil, brought together the country’s football teams recently taking part of the South American Cup and ‘Re-Cup’s competitions, in order to develop an educative campaign against piracy of matches that are broadcast through the platform.

Brazilian football teams like Athletico Paranaense, Atletico Mineiro, Botafogo and Corinthians started to organize a campaign focused on encouraging their fans to subscribe to the OTT platform and avoid going through illegal broadcasts  links to get accessed to the team’s matches for free. In this regard, the British company Muso showed a survey that explained that Brazil is located in the fourth place in consumption of illegal content online’s terms.

‘That range’s accesses not only bring several damage to Brazilian football clubs, which fail in making a correct matches audience’s measuring, but also fail fan’s experience during the matches broadcasts’, is written in a note released by football teams.

Juan Delgado, CVO of DAZN Group, will join as a speaker at the Sportv Series Latin America and US Hispanic event, developed by Dataxis, which will take place next October 2nd at the Biltmore Hotel, in Miami.
