OTT Claro Video (America Movil) from Mexico presented on May 23rd its second original production, La Hermandad (The Brotherhood) series, co-produced with Colombian production company 11:11 Films. With this, Claro Video makes stronger its competition with US OTT Netflix in performing content made in Latin America.
The first season of the series, a 14-chapter psychological thriller, will be released throughout Latin America on June 2nd. Claro Video is available for telephone and/or Pay-TV and internet subscribers in Mexico (also open to non-clients), Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Dominican Republic, Argentina, Ecuador, Peru, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Uruguay and Panama.
“Television via streaming platforms like ours has more viewers than ever. There is change and Mexico has a big lead. We have taken a big step with this series. It is not the first but it’s the largest in production, in cast. We are giving great Mexican exclusive content, not only American, to Latin America”, said America Movil Content Media CEO, Andres Vazquez del Mercado, to local newspaper La Jornada.
The filming of La Hermandad started in October 2015 in Mexico City and is the second original series from Claro Video after El Torito, a comedy by local producer Corazon Films. Claro is expected to announce new co-productions in the short term.
