Argentina’s free access OTT service Cine.Ar Play announced the launch of its app on Samsung Smart TVs produced from 2015 onwards and running the Tizen operating system. This new option extends the access to the platform, which in addition to the website, already offers mobile apps for iOS and Android.
Cine.Ar Play is the VOD service of the National Institute of Film and Audiovisual Arts (INCAA) and the telecommunications company Arsat. It offers free access to national films, series and documentaries. Users also have the option to rent movies on the transactional platform called Cine.Ar Estrenos.
Last June, during NexTV Series South America, the conference organized by Dataxis, the company had already anticipated that it was preparing new apps for smart TVs. Cine.Ar Play first launched its Android app in October last year, and in July expanded its reach to iOS devices. The platform currently has more than 600,000 registered users.
