Chivas has not ran an agreement for its local matches TV rights in 2020 yet

The Mexican Torneo Clausura 2020  calendar was announced on Monday through the MX League’s official websites, which organizes the competition. In the document, the times and dates of the 17 fixture dates of the football league were informed, together with the TV channels that will televise the football matches. In the case of those to be played by the Guadalajara Sports Club -better known as ‘Las Chivas’- locally, this section was omitted because the club is still negotiating a TV broadcast agreement.

Chivas will start its 2020 calendar on January 11th, playing against FC Juarez as local. The football team ended its partnership with TUDN and TV Azteca and, up to now, the TV channel choose to broadcast the event is unknown.

As reported by David Medrano, journalist from the Mexican website Record, ‘the figure that Guadalajara intends to collect for TV rights is impossible for a single TV network, so, over the weekend it was decided that the best option is to try to repeat what was done in the last competition, where the TV channel can be opened to all interested, and the aim is to try to  collect as much as possible’. The journalist also reported that two platforms that broadcast online are also interested.
