Chilevisión and TVN increase losses

According to data from the first quarter of 2018, Chilean free-to-air channels Chilevisión (Turner) and TVN increase their losses compared to a year ago, while Mega was the only channel that reported profits.
Chilevisión recorded losses of Ch$ 5,790 million (USD 9.1 million) compared to Ch$ 4,940 million (USD 7.8 million) in 2017. TVN reported losses of Ch$ 4,126 million (USD 6.6 million), compared to Ch$ 3,604 million (USD 5.7 million) from the same period a year ago.
In turn, Mega (Bethia group), the market’s leading audience channel, reported profits of Ch$ 1,115 million (USD 1.7 million). Canal 13 (Luksic group) recorded losses of Ch$ 3,003 million (USD 4.7 million), a 10.4% lower figure compared to the Ch$ 3,352 million (USD 5.3 million) in the same period last year.
During the period, Canal 13, Mega and Chilevisión recorded marginal increases in sales, while TVN had a decrease of 21.8%.
