Chile’s Canal 13 renewed its cameras with Blackmagic Design for its soap operas

Chilean FTA network Canal 13 acquired URSA Mini 4k digital cameras from Blackmagic Design, the Australian company specialized in video technology. As stated in a release, this equipment will be used for soap operas.

It was the director of Canal 13’s series “Preciosas”, Herval Abreu, who first thought of using Blackmagic Design products. “We always had our eyes on Blackmagic Design’s URSA Mini 4K cameras and needed to apply the same type of test scenario to see if they would help us accomplish what we wanted in terms of image quality, while working with what we already had in house”, explained Hugo Terán, Chief of Technical Projects at the Chilean network.

Canal 13 is using other products of the Australian company, such as the 3G-SDI Arduino Shield cards for camera control, the DaVinci Resolve Studio for editing, and the Teranex 2D Processor for standards conversions.
