Chile’s Canal 13 launches video streaming service

Chilean broadcaster Canal 13 has launched Loop, its new on demand platform, which includes both old and new shows of the station. Users must register (free of charge) to get access to the content.

“Loop is a free subscription (SVOD) project that seeks to take advantage of the contents of Canal 13 to get closer to our audience, get to know it better and be able to achieve a relationship of greater fidelity with it,” said the editor of Digital Media, Andrés Azócar.

According to the executive, the service will initially include contents and “emblematic shows” of Canal 13 and then it will add exclusive films and series. “Improving our content libraries will make us grow in subscribers,” he said.

Among the productions already available on the platform are “Machos”, “Video Loco”, “Soltera Otra Vez”, “Protagonistas de la fama” and “MasterChef Chile”, among others.

Recently, Chilean businessman Andrónico Luksic bought 33% of Canal 13 from Universidad Católica, thus becoming the only owner of the FTA TV station.
