Caracol Televisión extends Colombia national team rights

Colombian Soccer Federation (FCF in Spanish) and free-to-air broadcaster Caracol Televisión announced the renewal of the TV rights for the country’s national team games in the qualifiers for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
According to El Espectador, the deal is valued at USD 40 million for four years. In addition to the qualifiers, Caracol will also be able to broadcast the friendly matches. “We are pleased to sign this new deal, which allows Caracol Televisión to continue to be the official network of the Colombian National Team for four years, a role we have played with pride and dedication for more than 25 years,” said Gonzalo Córdoba, president of Caracol Televisión.
In turn, Ramón Jesurun, president of the FCF, said that “the renewal of the rights by Caracol Televisión confirms the success of the alliance that for more than two decades has allowed millions of Colombians to watch the National Team in different competitions around the world.”
