Canal 1’s audience keeps growing

Colombia’s free-to-air channel Canal 1 announced that on July 24 it achieved a share of 9.23% and nine of its shows registered above 1 rating point, which represented the best figure recorded since the launch of the new programming, on August 14, 2017.
According to the data provided by the channel and based on figures from Kantar Ibope Media, the channel’s growth is on the “Early” segment, which includes Turkish series, as well as “Decisions” and “Caso cerrado” shows, all achieving over 10% share. The channel also registered grow in the Late (night) segment, where “Caso Cerrado”, “Pregunta Yamid” and the summary of “Lo Mejor De Primera Hora”, lead the programming.
“The sustained and constant growth we are experiencing with Canal 1 confirms that we are doing things well, and it shows that people are watching, each day they are tuning in more and more and that makes us want to continue betting on the work we are doing,” said Felipe Boshell Córdoba, president of Canal 1.
Canal 1 operates on the public network of RTVC. In 2016, Plural Comunicaciones, a consortium formed by RTI, CM, NTC and the US media group Hemisphere Media, won the tender to manage the station.
