Cablevision from Argentina announced at the NexTV Series South America 2016 that it launched the beta version of its new integrated TV service Flow

Pay-TV operator Cablevision from Argentina, local market leader, announced during the NexTV Series South America 2016 that it launched the beta version of its new integrated TV service, which will be called Flow, during the Executive Panel “Pay-TV Programmers and Operators: How to Attract the future consumer.”

The COO of the company, Gonzalo Hita, announced that this is their “most revolutionary TV product”: an integrated version of TV Everywhere and OTT with a new user interface via a hybrid set-top box (STB), accessable from any device to traditional linear channels of it Pay-TV grid. It will give Start Over service to restart content and Cloud DVR, Video On Demand (VOD) of each signal and a strong recommendation engine for a native intake platform.

Hita said that they have spent more than two years negotiating with programmers as customer satisfaction has been lowering at high speed. “Consumer habits have changed and we had to take this step. The worst thing we can do as an industry is to cover the sun with your hand, the client wants to watch in a certain way and we have to offer it. We have to see how to become creative to deliver content. If all of the broadcasters’ content was available online we would be much more interesting than Netflix.”

NexTV Summit Series South America 2016 gathers on June 15th and 16th at the Plaza Hotel Buenos Aires, Argentina, Pay-TV, film, Free-to-Air TV and OTT executives as well as representatives of YouTube channels, to open the debate on new business models and the relationships between technology and service providers, value aggregators and content distributors.
