Brazil’s Vivo adds Netflix to mobile offer

Brazilian mobile operator Vivo (Telefónica) announced the addition of Netflix to its “Double Play” offer, the data bonus for exclusive use in selected music and video applications.
Through “Double Play”, customers automatically get extra data to use selected apps such as Spotify, YouTube, Vivo Música, NBA, and now Netflix. For example, customers with 10 GB automatically get an additional 10 GB to use these apps without consuming their monthly data.
In a press release, the company said that the entry of Netflix into the offer of applications that are part of this benefit “reinforces the strategy that only Vivo customers have the tools to make the best use of the internet”.
The “Double Play” package is part of Vivo’s postpaid plans “Familia” since October 2017. Additionally, these plans also offer access to mobility applications, without consuming data, including Cabify, Easy Taxi and Waze.
