The Brazilian media group Globo has added Recife, located in the northwest of the country, to the list of cities that can visualize live programming on the streaming platform Globo Play. This new service was activated last August 19th and is provided for free.
Globo Play was launched in October 2015 with a monthly subscription to provide access to the pre-recorded shows and contents from the archive of the FTA TV channel Globo. The platform also provided free access to the live programming but only for Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. This service was expanded to Minas Gerais and the Federal District in 2016.
During the last couple of months, the platform included exclusive contents that weren’t exhibited in the FTA channel. It also premiered new episodes of some series before they were broadcasted on TV. However, this contents are only available for subscribers. Globo Play’s monthly fee is USD 5.05.
