Brazil’s Carnival boosts Globo’s digital platform audience

The Carnival garnered more than 3.3 million viewers on Globo’s digital platforms G1 and Globo Play. The consumption of videos about the celebration reached 6.8 million views, according data provided by Globo and reported by the local site TelaViva.

Between February 25 and March 1, the average number of daily downloads on Globo Play more than double the average of a typical month. Through these platforms, the main Brazilian broadcaster offered live the carnivals of Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, El Salvador and Recife. In addition, Globo offered fragments of the best moments in VOD.

55% of the users chose to watch the videos through computers. The second device most used was the cell phone, with 39%. In turn, to access contents in VOD,  cell phones were the most used devices (68%).
