Bolivian soccer team Bolívar, current champion of the tournament, has recently sold its TV rights to three pay TV operators – Cotas, Inter Satelital and Coteor- and is about to close another agreement with the company Digital Cable, Bolivar’s General Manager, Fernando Ibargüen told NexTV News Latam. Clausura 2017 tournament begins today, July 28.
Ibargüen said that these agreements are “additional to the subscriptions within our application (the streaming service Bolívar TV) that are increasing day by day”. The executive said that soon will be launched the version for iOS, as well as the web version on page www.clubbolivartv.com In the next 45 days, the service will enable Chromecast support and the apps for Smart TVs LG and Samsung.
Bolívar is the only team in the Bolivian Professional Soccer League (LFPB in Spanish) that did not sell its broadcast rights. In this way, it uses its OTT service to broadcast the home matches and sells the rights, without exclusivity, to other platforms.
