Amazon to premiere first original series for Mexico

Amazon Prime Video announced that it will premiere in May the new series “Diablo Guardián”, based on the book by Xavier Velasco. Televisa had planned to release this production on its SVOD service Blim, but it will finally be part of Amazon’s catalogue as part of the agreement between both companies.
This way, “Diablo Guardián” will become the first series originally produced for the platform in Mexico. It will be available globally for more than 200 countries around the world. Meanwhile, Amazon recently unveiled the first teaser of the new series.
“We are very happy to be able to introduce original and locally relevant content for our clients in Mexico just in time for the anniversary of the launch of Prime in Mexico. We believe that our audience will love ‘Diablo Guardián’, as well as the upcoming series that will be available this year,” said Marco Nobili, Amazon Prime Video’s Director in Mexico.
In February this year, Televisa announced an agreement with Amazon for the distribution of original production series through Prime Video SVOD service.
