Amazon Prime Video numbers revealed

According to data revealed by Reuters, Amazon’s US audience for all video programming on Prime, including films and TV shows it licenses from other companies, was about 26 million customers.
The internal documents obtained by Reuters show that, for example, “The Man in the High Castle” had 8 million US viewers in early 2017 and attracted 1.15 million new subscribers worldwide based on Amazon’s accounting. Reuters said the documents revealed metrics that have never been reported for 19 shows exclusive to Amazon.
In addition, the report revealed that Amazon’s top television shows drew more than 5 million people worldwide to its Prime shopping club by early 2017, which reveals the company’s performance in the original video area.
Amazon’s strategy is to use the video to convert viewers into shoppers. Users access the programming by joining Prime, a club that includes two-day package delivery and other benefits, for an annual fee. The company also offers a separate monthly subscription for USD 8.99 (in the United States). In Latin America, the subscription costs USD 5.99.
